EXHIBITION #1: STEPS TO SALVATION
STEP SIX : I MUST CALL UPON JESUS CHRIST IN SINCERE AND EARNEST PRAYER .
PAINTING #10: IN HIS PRESENCE
"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. " John 14:13
'in His Presence' by Alton Felix. 2015. Acrylic on Hard Board . 40 cm x 60 cm.
Artist's Commentary:
The painting remembers when mothers and grandmothers would sit on their favourite chairs and quietly pray for their their sons and daughters:
" Oh Lord, teach her how to truly live in Your presence daily.
Let him desire to know more of You.
Sometimes life's trials, the pleasures of sin,
and work..work..work..steal them away from You.
Help them to really understand that it is only in Your presence that there is fullness of joy.
Give them wisdom, and the courage to apply Your Word daily.
In Jesus' name., I pray with thanksgiving. Amen."
"You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." - Psalm 16:11
God desires that the repentant sinner call upon Him in earnest prayer. He will answer and meet his every need:
"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name that I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
Thank you parents and grandparents for your daily prayers which never go unnoticed by God.
We, too, must continue to pray for our children.
Also, in making that step to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, it is necessary to call upon Him in sincere and earnest prayer.
This is my interpretation of the painting. What is yours?
All honour and glory belong to God, and His Son Jesus! Be blessed.
